Cardiac failure acute; heat shock; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Physician) from Regulatory Authority.
Regulatory number: v2210003695 (RA).
A 75-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 (COMIRNATY), on 22Dec2022 as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation.
The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported.
The following information was reported: CARDIAC FAILURE ACUTE (death, medically significant), outcome "fatal"; SHOCK (death, medically significant), outcome "fatal", described as "heat shock".
The patient date of death was 23Dec2022.
Reported cause of death: "Cardiac failure acute", "heat shock".
Clinical Course: On 22Dec2022, the patient received Novel coronavirus vaccine valence unknown.
On 23Dec2022, post-mortem examination due to death during bathing was performed.
On 24Jan2023, the family of the deceased contacted reporter that the deceased had received a COVID-19 vaccine on 22Dec2022.
On a relevant note, heat shock was highly likely in terms of the cause of death, and cardiac failure acute was specified as the direct cause of death.
On 23Dec2022 at 6:00, the patient experienced death.
The reporting physician classified the event as serious (death) and the causality between the event and BNT162b2 as unassessable.
Other possible cause of the event such as any other diseases was Heat shock.
It is presumed that the involvement of the vaccine is not suspected as a cause of death.
